Our Founder’s Story:
A personal narrative of the founder’s journey, passions, and motivations.

MK Studios was founded by Malini Kumar — a seasoned content creator and content marketer with over 25 years of experience at the intersection of storytelling and brand strategy.
A storyteller at heart, Malini approaches content as a powerful brand solution — seamlessly integrating brands into compelling narratives that feel authentic and purposeful.
As a strategist, she designs scalable content ecosystems that not only drive business growth but also foster meaningful audience engagement. As a documentary filmmaker, she creates stories that inform, inspire, and generate measurable impact.
Over the course of her career, Malini has worked with some of India’s leading television broadcasters, including Network18 (CNN, CNBC), The Times Group, NDTV, and India Today TV. Her expertise spans broadcast media, television, digital and social platforms, print, and radio — making her equally fluent in both traditional and new-age media landscapes.
Her body of work reflects exceptional range in subject matter, scale, and storytelling formats. From travelling to the remotest corners of India to create a 10-part environmental sustainability series for Warner Bros. Discovery Channel, to producing documentaries on pressing social issues such as the water crisis; from scripting and directing a National Geographic Channel film on scientific engineering marvels and large-scale infrastructure, to crafting branded human-interest narratives in healthcare — her creative canvas is expansive and versatile.
She has documented 70 years of flight testing for the Indian Air Force and experimented across formats — from whiteboard animations and graphic-led films to rap-driven 3D animated videos — constantly adapting storytelling to suit the message and medium.
In the digital domain, Malini has led large cross-functional teams and steered high-priority content initiatives for the Government of India and the Prime Minister’s Office. She has also conceptualized and executed integrated social media campaigns for leading institutions, including the world’s oldest coeducational residential boarding school.
As a content marketer, she has successfully pitched and delivered projects ranging from 150-episode television series to standalone corporate films and fully integrated 360-degree branded campaigns across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
Many of the campaigns she has conceived and led have earned national and international recognition.
